Willemijn studied in Leiden and has been a lawyer since 1996. She joined Penrose as a partner in October 2025. Before that, she worked at Boekel de Nerée (now: Dentons), the judiciary and Van Doorne.
Willemijn specialises in civil real estate law with an emphasis on tenancy law in the broadest sense. Willemijn advises and litigates on all possible tenancy law and general real estate and civil law issues and assists national and international investors, developers, healthcare institutions, retailers and commercial users, among others. She is also involved in (re)purchase and (re)lease transactions and (re)developments of commercial real estate, healthcare real estate and residential portfolios.
Willemijn is described as creative, analytically strong and pragmatic. She is socially committed and sociable. Willemijn is able to quickly get to the heart of complex matters without losing the necessary attention to detail and substance.
Willemijn publishes regularly on real estate law topics and is co-author of the Handbook on Real estate law (sections Tenancy law and Commercial property rental law).
